Web Design Process

After organising a meeting to talk about your website, I’ll help you establish your goals, budget, target audience, time frame, and all required features for your website.

Upon receiving 50% payment for the website, I take note of your requirements and from my office I create a wireframe mock-up for your approval. Included in the overall cost are up to 3 revisions of the mockup. The mockup is designed for mobile devices as well as laptop and desktops, completing what is known as a Responsive Design.

On receiving your approval of the final mockup, I design the overall look of the website in consultation with you.

I get my SEO Copywriter to contact you either by meeting you or with an email to complete a questionnaire. This will give them information about your business, and the message you want to convey to your customers and/or target audience. Once you have approved the content with the Copywriter, I add it to the design of your site or page and then seek your final approval.

This is done by first developing the home page, followed by a “shell” for the other pages. The shell serves as a template for the content pages of your site, as it contains the main navigational structure for the web site. Once the shell has been created, I take your content and distribute it throughout the site, into the appropriate areas.

Extensive testing across multiple devices, platforms, and browsers are conducted to ensure a consistent delivery of content. Before the site goes live, together we work to ensure the site meets every need outlined from the initial consult.

So I’ve received your final payment, now to transfer the code and database across from the development site to your live website domain and do final testing.

Having a website is like owning a pet. You don’t just buy your pet and that’s it. A new website needs a care and maintenance plan just as you would look after a pet. Why? New security versions and general updates are released on a regular basis. Content may need to change over time, particularly your Blog. To ensure your website content is up-to-date, is running efficiently, and as securely as possible I continue to update it on a regular basis for an ongoing monthly fee.
